Hog Hollow Country Lodge Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route

Perched on top of a gorge overlooking the indigenous forests below, Hog Hollow is a
slice of modern African paradise with vibrant earthy décor and friendly smiling staff.

Quirky touches such as the suspended flying frogs from the dining room ceiling and
Gaugin styled paintings in the rooms lend a fun colorful touch. At night the outdoor
terraced lounge is transformed into a cosy candlelit scene with paraffin lamps
lighting each table and a suspended brazier fire place taking center stage as it
would in a traditional African Boma.

The rooms at Hog Hollow continue the African theme in natural elements of wood,
stone and thatch contrasting with bright paintings, ceramic African animals and
printed fabrics. Add to this your own private balcony overlooking the forest with
hammock and this is the perfect setting for relaxation.

From the lodge it is a leisurely 45min walk through the forest to Monkeyland and
Birds of Eden Sanctuaries which are well worth supporting and the lodge reception
will fetch you afterwards for the transfer back by road.

Hog Hollow is a Fairtrade certified lodge which supports the environment and its
surrounding communities.

How Hog Hollow Country Lodge Plettenberg Bay is a shining light for:

Local Community School Support: Hog Hollow Country Lodge is a proud sponsor of the Kids of Kurland school project! The Kids Of Kurland School Project was begun in 2001, to provide life skills training to the children of the community, with the objective of facilitating empowerment, functional behaviour, capacity building and coping skills.

Besides instituting programs focusing on child safety, resources for life, pride project and outdoor life skills, AIDS education has also been introduced, with a view to children educating their parents through the concept of joint homework. Another prime objective, is raising funds to enable the school to employ more teachers.

Another programme which KOK has paid for is The Conscious Classroom which helped reduce the aggression which can be found in children coming from an abusive background. This was a great help with amazing results.
