ECO GREEN LODGES IN ZAMBIA
Sindabezi Island Lodge, Zambia
Sindabezi Island is a romantic , exclusive camp set on its very own private island on the Zambezi River. It is the ultimate luxury eco bush camp from where Victoria Falls can comfortably be explored.
The lodge has only five open-sided thatched cottages sitting directly on the river amongst the trees, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in a perfect, pristine setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby national park complete the scene. Expect to see hippos and elephants and if you are lucky hear lions roar all from the comfort of your very own deck.
You can expect to enjoy all these activities which are included at Sindabezi: a sunrise and sunset boat trip on the Zambezi; a guided canoe trip; lunch on a local island with a guided walk; fishing to your heart’s content; visit Victoria Falls; game watch in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya Park; visit a local village by mountain bike; shop at local craft markets; walk below the Falls in a gorge. Of course the best part is returning to the peace and tranquility at Sindabezi as you watch the sunset play over the water.
During April- September a special event called the lunar rainbow over Victoria Falls can be experienced during the three nights around the full moon. Contact us to check on the best dates to witness this magical spectacle.

HOW SINDABEZI IS SHINING A GREEN LIGHT FOR
NATURE: Sindabezi operates entirely off the grid with solar powered energy; paraffin lamps are used as supplements; cooking is done by gas and the waste water purification system is also solar driven with recycled water used for the organic gardens and wildlife dam. They have a water bottling system on site which saves on 20000 plastic bottles and 2000 tin cans per year. All kitchen, cleaning and guest toiletry products are 100% biodegradable.
ANIMALS: The lodge has minimal impact on the environment on the island with no light and noise pollution and no wood removal; therefore the habitat of the animals and birds is preserved
PEOPLE: The Tujatane School Trust believes in attracting the best possible teachers to the school and with this in mind has built 3 houses for its teachers and will continue to build 2 houses per year, then extend classrooms and facilities. Solar power for the school is also underway and a composting project.
